Money
I'd like that we start to think about fundraising, and we discuss about this here. I'm currently working full time, so this money would not be for me, but it would allow to pay people to work on it. (And why not quitting my job, but this is another discussion ;) ) Also sometimes, it is just easier to pay a good python developer to add a feature on python code (I have this issue in mind)
I propose that we get money from the following channels:
- opencollective
- https://liberapay.com
- bitcoin address
- eth address
- zcash
- paypal
- each person setup a liberapay profile to get money too (I'll personally give all of this to libre.sh) (Don't debate on each channel here please, open an issue with one channel you have an issue with)
Then, on each repo, we make these links visible with a strong call to action.
And then, we put all this money in a cobudget ;) I propose the following:
- we tell our supporters that they can create an account and the money they put on the project, they can manage it themself
- general donations are spread equally between the member of libre.sh (member is to be defined)
- once in the cobudget, the money can get out just for paid work (you can't take back the money, it is given to the project)
At IndieHost, we plan to give 10% post tax of our income to this cobudget, and we want to let our users to be in the cobudget tp manage this money themself.
One thing is still needed o be determined. Who holds the money?
