Technology choices for managing infrastructure as code

In order to make our infrastructure management transparent, debatable, portable and as far as possible immutable, we should use one or more technologies capable of managing configurations and automating deployments of our infrastructure from this git repository.

Options include (feel free to add more):

  • ansible
  • docker-compose
  • puppet
  • chef
  • salt
  • terraform
